Membership

Jesus is the cornerstone of our church and biblical membership is the cement that holds us all together. Both Jesus and Paul pointed us toward membership for our encouragement, our protection, and our instruction. We carry this out through a three-step process by which to join NFBC.

Presentation for Membership— Any person may come to NFBC for membership by any one of the following three ways:
  • By Salvation and Biblical Baptism
  • Transfer of Church Membership
  • Statement of Faith

New Members Orientation — All prospective members must attend our New Members Orientation. The orientation includes:
  • Mission & Vision of NFBC, Church Covenant, and Baptist Faith & Message 2000
  • Missional Engagement
  • Ministry Engagement

2024 New Member Orientation Dates:
  • April 21st, 11:00 - 2:00 (Light lunch provided)
  • June (Date To Be Determined)
  • August  (Date To Be Determined)
  • October (Date To Be Determined)

Upon completion, those who attend all three sessions are able but not obligated to sign up for a membership conversation with one of our pastors. These brief conversations will help to affirm the how prospective member's beliefs align with New Friendship Baptist Church.

Congregational Affirmation—During our quarterly business meetings, the prospective member will be presented to the church for membership. At this time, any questions will be fielded by the pastor who held the membership conversation. Following this, a vote will be taken, and with a majority secured, the prospective member is admitted into membership at NFBC.
